Mister Donut Donates 827,000 Surplus Meals and Receives Award from SOS Thailand

Mister Donut, managed by Central Restaurants Group Co., Ltd. or CRG, received The Good Sustaining Partner Award for the second consecutive year at the SOS Thailand Award 2026, organised by the SOS Thailand Foundation at CentralWorld Live, CentralWorld shopping centre, on 4 November 2026. At the event, Napassorn Sakulchaiwanich, Assistant Managing Director of Mister Donut, represented the organisation in receiving the award, which honours partners working to reduce food waste and support vulnerable groups in society. This achievement stems from the implementation of the CRG Surplus Food project since 2020 to systematically select unsold, good-quality food from stores and pass it on to communities in need.

Surplus Food Management Under the CRG Surplus Food Project

Central Restaurants Group Co., Ltd. and Mister Donut have continuously operated their restaurant business alongside social and environmental care under the Green Waste & Environment approach. At the heart of this operation is the CRG Surplus Food project, launched in 2020 to manage daily unsold surplus food for maximum benefit instead of discarding it as food waste. The brand collaborates with the SOS Thailand Foundation to collect daily unsold food from branches that remains fresh, safe and edible according to standard criteria, for distribution to communities and vulnerable groups in need of assistance.

The systematic process of sorting and delivering surplus food tangibly reduces the volume of food waste from the restaurant sector. Beyond waste reduction, the project promotes the efficient use of food production resources and delivers direct benefits to those lacking access to food. Receiving The Good Sustaining Partner Award for the second consecutive year reflects the ongoing collaboration between the restaurant operator and the social organisation.

Cumulative Results Since 2020 and Long-Term Collaboration

Throughout its operation since 2020, the CRG Surplus Food project by Mister Donut and the SOS Thailand Foundation has generated measurable social and environmental results. The cumulative weight of surplus food collected and shared with communities exceeds 196 tonnes, equivalent to more than 827,000 meals delivered to recipients. At the same time, utilising surplus food has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 498 tonnes (tCO2e), further reducing environmental impact.

  • Cumulative surplus food donated: more than 196 tonnes
  • Number of meals provided to support communities and vulnerable groups: more than 827,000 meals
  • Cumulative greenhouse gas emissions reduction: more than 498 tonnes (tCO2e)

Looking ahead, Mister Donut plans to continue working with the SOS Thailand Foundation to reduce food waste from its branches and continuously increase food access for vulnerable groups. The organisation remains focused on efficient resource use and expanding its sustainability outcomes to help build a sharing society in the long term.
