Samut Prakan Invites Visitors to Safe Agricultural Products Fair 22 to 31 Oct 2026

Samut Prakan Province, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Department of Agricultural Extension Samut Prakan Province, the Samut Prakan Provincial Community Development Office and Robinson Lifestyle Samut Prakan shopping centre, is preparing to hold a trade exhibition titled the Safe Agricultural Products and Best of Pak Nam Fair to drive the grassroots economy through the BCG Model approach. The event is scheduled to take place from 22 to 31 October 2026, from 10.00 to 20.00 hrs, at the Activity Area, 3rd Floor, Robinson Lifestyle Samut Prakan. The fair brings together standardised agricultural produce and community products across 120 booths for direct sale to consumers, alongside business negotiations and knowledge-sharing activities throughout the 10 days.

Potential of the Three-Water Ecosystem and Upgrading Agricultural Products with the BCG Model

Mr Wiwat Chan-ophas, Provincial Permanent Secretary of Samut Prakan, stated that this event aligns with government policy aimed at advancing Thailand as a global food production hub under the Kitchen of the World concept. This approach focuses on raising production standards from agricultural plots to the dining table in accordance with the From Farm to Table principle to ensure safety for both producers and consumers. The operation also falls under the integrated project to upgrade standardised safe agricultural production through the BCG Model for the grassroots economy, which aims to improve the quality of economic crops whilst reducing costs and increasing yields to compete in international markets.

Samut Prakan Province possesses geographical strengths as it borders the Gulf of Thailand and is traversed by the Chao Phraya River. Consequently, it is influenced by tidal flows, creating a three-water ecosystem comprising saltwater, freshwater and brackish water. The sediment carried and deposited by the river is rich in minerals suited to cultivating the province's key economic crops. Bringing standout produce from farmers across the area together in a single event allows the general public to see the full potential and finest products of Pak Nam.

An Array of 120 Product Booths Alongside Business Matching Activities

The 120-booth sales area gathers produce from farmers, farmer organisations, farmer housewife groups, community enterprises, collaborative farming promotion groups and OTOP entrepreneurs of Samut Prakan Province. The primary goal is to promote marketing so that farmers develop products that meet buyer demand and add value to their produce. At the same time, the public, school pupils, university students and consumers can purchase safe agricultural products at fair prices, which expands income-generating channels and keeps money circulating within the community.

In addition to product shopping, the event features a variety of activities to promote knowledge and create trade opportunities. Attendees can follow these key activities:

  • An agricultural clinic area providing cultivation advice for farmers and interested visitors
  • Business negotiations or Business Matching to connect producers directly with buyers
  • Agricultural produce contests and competitions to promote local product standards
  • A som tam making contest and demonstrations on methods to add value to agricultural produce
  • Agricultural learning stations to pass on knowledge to youth and the public
