Three Main Activities to Experience Thai Rice Up Close

Activities at the event are divided into three parts, starting with Rice Tasting, where attendees can taste multiple rice varieties and learn the differences through aroma, flavour and texture, followed by Rice Pairing, where chefs demonstrate the creation of creative dishes made from Thai rice live.

The final part is the Workshop, which allows participants to get hands-on with rice-based products such as sourdough bread made from indigenous rice, Khao Khaep (Thai rice crackers), making chocolate from rice, and blending rice tea with herbs. It is suited to those who want to know Thai rice more deeply than eating regular steamed rice.

Promoting Farmers' Income Through the High-Quality Rice Market

The Khao Praneat Festival is part of the 2026 Project to Promote and Develop the High-Quality Rice Market to Increase Farmers' Income, which focuses on adding value and diversity to Thai rice while creating channels for produce from Thai farmers to reach urban consumers directly without going through multiple middlemen.

Choosing to hold the event at One Bangkok, a large-scale real estate development in the heart of Bangkok, also gives indigenous Thai rice varieties that are hard to find in everyday life greater space to present themselves to urban consumers.

This event is of interest to event organisers looking for experiential food festival activity ideas, tourists and members of the public seeking food and souvenirs made from authentic Thai rice, as well as hotel and restaurant professionals who wish to study Thai rice varieties to adapt for their own menus.
