Queen Sirikit National Convention Center Earns ISO 27001:2022, First in ASEAN
QSNCC has become the first convention centre in ASEAN certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security, ahead of hosting the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) announced on 22 September 2026 that it has received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for information security management systems from BSI Group (Thailand) Ltd, becoming the first convention centre in the ASEAN region to achieve this standard. The certification is aimed at upgrading the venue's IT systems and information security infrastructure to support international events, particularly the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings, which will be held this October.
What Does the Standard Cover?
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is an international standard for the systematic management and protection of information, covering three key areas: confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and services, along with risk management and the continuous implementation of control measures.
For QSNCC, the scope of certification covers the data centre and core IT systems, management of system and data access rights, and the wired and wireless internet networks used to serve clients at events, ensuring that all three areas of security are addressed.
Surapol Utinthu, Chief Executive Officer of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, said the certification confirms the readiness of the venue's back-end systems, which have been developed in line with international standards. As technology and digital systems play an increasingly important role in hosting international conferences, managing information security is no longer just about preventing data leaks, but also about maintaining data accuracy and ensuring systems remain continuously available throughout an event.
