Betagro S-Pure Chilled Eggs Earn Suphan Hong Mark, Salmonella-Free and Safe to Eat Raw
Betagro's S-Pure chilled eggs have received Suphan Hong certification from the Department of Livestock Development, confirming they are fresh, safe and Salmonella-free.
S-Pure, Betagro's premium meat and food brand, has announced that its chilled fresh eggs have received certification for egg production under the Suphan Hong egg mark from the Department of Livestock Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, on 24 September 2026. The company says it is the only brand in the country certified as fresh, safe and Salmonella-free, with standards checked all the way back to the breeder-flock level. Consumers can therefore be more confident that the eggs they put in their basket have been controlled from the farm onwards.
What the Suphan Hong mark tells buyers
The mark confirms that S-Pure chilled fresh eggs can be eaten raw and have no fishy smell. Salmonella is a bacterium commonly found contaminating fresh food; once in the body, it damages the digestive tract and causes food poisoning.
The eggs can also be traced back to their source, so people who enjoy raw eggs know where each tray came from.
How the hens are raised and the awards received
S-Pure laying hens are raised 100% naturally, with an animal care team on each farm, and are fed a Superfood recipe developed by researchers that combines Prebiotics and Probiotics to strengthen the hens' immunity and keep them healthy. None of the brand's products use antibiotics, hormones or growth promoters at any point during rearing.
S-Pure chilled fresh eggs have also won the Superior Taste Award with 3 stars, the highest international rating. The yolks are round, plump and bright orange, and the eggs reach freshness grade AA under the grading criteria of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). All of this is managed through a Cold Chain system at 4 to 10 degrees.
Raw egg dishes are becoming more varied
Thai consumers now use fresh eggs and raw egg yolks in a wide range of dishes, including savoury food, drinks and international-style menus. Common examples are soy-sauce marinated eggs, raw eggs served with shabu and jim jum hotpots, and Vietnamese egg coffee, in which fresh egg yolk is whisked into the drink. Although there are no clear statistics on the size of the market in Thailand, people who eat raw eggs tend to pay particular attention to quality and safety, because they experience the taste, texture and freshness directly.
Fresh eggs contain protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which help protect the eyes. They also contain choline, which belongs to the same group as the B vitamins and is essential for brain function, helps lower levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and helps the liver metabolise fat normally.
Comments from the executive and where to buy
Mr Trairat Thongplod, Chief Operating Officer, Livestock Business, Betagro, said the mark offers consumers a safe food choice because the eggs are cared for from upstream to downstream and can be traced back, especially for people who enjoy fresh eggs and want a fresh taste and texture. The company believes food quality comes from care at every step of the production chain, and it will continue to develop food and innovation.
This news ties in with this year's main campaign, "So You, So Great" ("Good life starts with your choice"), which encourages people to choose quality food for themselves and their loved ones every day.
