Hankyu Hanshin brings special Takarazuka show to Siam Paragon at 18th Visit Japan Fair
Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group brings two Star Troupe leads from the Takarazuka Revue for a special show at Siam Paragon on 18 October 2026 to promote travel to Kansai.
Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group, which operates businesses across Japan's Kansai region, brought the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female theatre troupe with a history of more than 110 years, to stage a special performance on the main stage of the 18th Visit Japan FIT and Tour Fair from 16 to 18 October 2026 at Siam Paragon, Bangkok. The highlight of the event was on Sunday, 18 October, when two lead performers of the Star Troupe, Chisei Akatsuki and Chizuru Uta, performed live to familiarise Thai travellers with the charms of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe.
Two Star Troupe lead performers join a talk and sing songs from Boys Over Flowers
On stage, the two performers spoke about their connection with Thailand and the world of the Takarazuka Revue, and shared stories about the production Takarazuka Musical Romance Boys Over Flowers II Shooting STAR, which was broadcast live in Thai cinemas in June 2026. The musical was adapted from the well-known manga by Yoko Kamio, with which Thai audiences are familiar through the series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, which aired in 2021. The pair then sang two fan-favourite songs: Futatsu no Suisei, or Two Meteors, from Boys Over Flowers II, and Kono Ai yo Eien ni, or TAKARAZUKA FOREVER, the troupe's signature song long cherished by Takarazuka fans.
Norio Sasagawa, General Manager of the Inbound Tourism Promotion Department at Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, said that bringing the two Star Troupe lead performers to appear in Thailand was intended to spark interest among Thai travellers in the Takarazuka Revue and inspire them to travel to experience its more than 100-year history, as well as the culture and tourist attractions of the Kansai region, in person.
Kansai travel booth invites visitors to experience Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe
In addition to the stage performance, the event featured a booth by Hankyu Railway, the Takarazuka Revue and Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores, jointly presenting travel ideas for Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe. These ranged from travelling on the Hankyu Railway network to experiencing a Takarazuka Revue performance and shopping at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store department store, along with recommended itineraries to help Thai travellers prepare to explore Kansai independently.
This performance marks the beginning of a series of ongoing activities rolling out from October 2026 to bring Thai fans closer to the Takarazuka Revue, such as Takarazuka-related content on TrueID and a Live Viewing broadcast of The Poe Clan by the Snow Troupe from Tokyo Takarazuka Theater at SF Cinema in Bangkok on 25 October 2026.
