Devasom Hua Hin and Khao Lak Awarded One MICHELIN Key for 2026
Both Devasom Hua Hin and Khao Lak have won the 2026 One MICHELIN Key award, highlighting their architecture, local cuisine and hospitality delivered by a Thai team.
Devasom Resorts has achieved a notable milestone by winning the One MICHELIN Key award in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026 selection on 28 October 2026 for both of its beachfront resorts: Devasom Hua Hin on the Gulf of Thailand coast and Devasom Khao Lak in Phang Nga province on the Andaman Sea coast. The award serves as an international benchmark for accommodation standards equivalent to MICHELIN restaurant distinctions, with inspectors evaluating architecture, interior design, consistent service quality, distinct character and the expression of local charm. Is Atirak, Managing Director of Devasom Resorts, stated that this achievement stems from the courage to pioneer new initiatives beyond what similarly sized boutique resorts typically undertake, offering guests a tranquil retreat and attentive care.
Architectural Identity and Coastal Dining on Both Coasts
Devasom was founded in 2009 by a Bangkok family who decided to change their way of life to create accommodations that care for visitors like family members. The Hua Hin property opened in 2010, featuring Thai-Victorian architecture modelled after early 20th-century summer mansions, with 24 sea-view rooms and villas alongside PRIBPRI Heritage Table, a restaurant preserving family recipes and the local cuisine of Phetchaburi province, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Meanwhile, the Khao Lak property opened in 2018 between a natural lagoon and an Andaman beach, with a design inspired by the Maritime Silk Road. It features a total of 69 guest rooms, pool suites and pool villas, alongside the southern Thai restaurant TAKOLA, which received the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand award from 2021 to 2024, and Devasom Beach Grill, serving fresh seafood from Thap Lamu pier and recommended in the MICHELIN Guide for a sixth consecutive year.
Local Talent, Wellness Activities and Sustainability
Ath Atirak, Co-Founder and Director of Development, noted that Devasom aims to create a special place where guests feel the warmth of returning home to people always waiting to welcome them. Hospitality at both properties is driven entirely by Thai staff, most of whom are locals, complemented by year-round wellness programmes including treatments at Devasom Spa | Wellness, Full Moon Sound Bath sound healing sessions, mindfulness practices and the Devasom Sol Festival, which invites international specialists to lead workshops over a full week. In arts and culture, Kala Terra Art and Craft Studio opened in Khao Lak in 2025 as a pottery studio featuring an Artist in Residence programme that invites artists to create works inspired by the local area. In addition, both properties feature a Listening Lounge playing classic vinyl records on an analogue system, along with the Heritage Drive activity offering vintage car tours of Hua Hin's old town.
Regarding social and environmental responsibility, the Devasom Scholarship has provided full undergraduate scholarships covering living expenses for youth in Takua Pa district since 2022, with 4 students currently in the programme. Meanwhile, the Devasom School Lunch Project provides lunches for more than 650 pupils across 2 schools, alongside the elimination of single-use plastic at both resorts since 2012. Rasri Atirak, President and Co-Founder, said that managing Devasom is about creating a circle of happiness where, when guests, team members and the surrounding community are happy, that happiness reflects back to the organisation as well.
