Chaipattana Foundation Teams Up with The Mall Group for Camellia Oil Festival at EMSPHERE

The Chaipattana Foundation, together with The Mall Group, is holding the 'Pattarapat Camellia Seed Oil Festival 2026: The Wonder of Healthy Oil' from 2 to 18 October 2026 at EM Market Hall, G Floor, EMSPHERE shopping centre. The event aims to spread knowledge about camellia seed oil as an ingredient for heart health, through collaboration with more than 35 well-known restaurants and Michelin-level establishments, staged in a Booth Festival format that recreates a farm atmosphere within the venue.

Launch Press Conference: Doctor Top and Actor Dang Discuss Health

The press conference was held on 21 September 2026 at Sphere Gallery 1, M Floor, EMSPHERE shopping centre, presided over by Dr Sumet Tantivejkul, Board Member and Senior Special Advisor to the Chaipattana Foundation, who demonstrated a stir-fried bean sprout dish cooked with camellia seed oil, a dish favoured by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.

At the event, Dr Nantapol Pongrattanaman, known as 'Doctor Top', a vascular surgeon and owner of the Doctor Top Longevity page, gave a talk titled 'Anti-Inflammatory Dish', on the subject of anti-inflammatory foods, while actor Dang Natchachai Boonprasert shared his perspective on long-term health care. Ploychompoo Amphuch, Executive Director of Supermarket Merchandising at The Mall Group Company Limited, said that the collaboration with the Chaipattana Foundation, now in its tenth year, is this year focused on building further momentum through partnerships with leading restaurants, so that camellia seed oil becomes an 'Everyday Healthy Choice' for Thai consumers.

Doctor Top explained that chronic inflammation stems from everyday habits such as eating sugary foods, stress, insufficient rest and trans fats, which are behind many non-communicable diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, blocked arteries and cancer. Camellia seed oil contains oleic acid, or omega-9, at levels as high as 80 to 85 percent, higher than common vegetable oils, along with concentrated antioxidants from the vitamin E and polyphenol groups, which help reduce the release of inflammatory substances at the cellular level, protect blood vessels and lower LDL, or 'bad', cholesterol.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Preside Over Opening on 7 October

On Wednesday 7 October 2026, at approximately 2.30pm, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Honorary President and Chair of the Board of the Chaipattana Foundation, will make a private visit to formally open the event at EMSPHERE shopping centre. She will also grant a recipe featuring Pattarapat camellia seed oil as an ingredient, and will demonstrate a kanom kangkao (a traditional Thai bat-shaped snack) recipe for attendees.

The event will feature products from shops in the Chaipattana Foundation network, including items from the Pattarapat store, processed products made from camellia seed oil, and silk dyed using the husks of Camellia oleifera tea oil fruit, produced by a network of farmers linked to the Chaipattana Foundation's Sericulture Learning Centre in Ban Khwao District, Chaiyaphum Province. There will also be special menu items from well-known restaurants, such as turmeric grilled pork banh mi with scrambled egg from Mi by Khao Piak Sen, tom yum fish noodle soup topped with crispy shallots from Kim Nguan Fish Ball, double-layer thong muan with young coconut and a savoury shrimp topping from Khun Yong Thong Muan Sod, and affogato from Matchaka.
