Terryn Schlenther Appointed GM of Kahavadi Chiang Rai Since Pre-Opening

Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Curio Collection by Hilton has appointed Terryn Schlenther as General Manager following the hotel's official opening in Chiang Rai province. Hilton entrusted her to oversee this project since the building was still under construction. This appointment marks a significant milestone for new-generation female leaders in the international hotel industry.

Role from pre-opening to opening day

Terryn took charge of the Kahavadi Chiang Rai project from the pre-opening period, allowing her to closely oversee the hotel's details from the beginning. This ranged from laying the operational system structure and designing the restaurant or F&B experience, to transferring Hilton's international service standards to the local team. The goal is to make Kahavadi Chiang Rai perfectly reflect the story and culture of Chiang Rai province. She worked with local artisans, cultural experts, and the local community throughout the preparation process.

Over 15 years of experience from DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit

Prior to taking on the role of General Manager at Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Terryn has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry with international hotels. She previously served as Commercial Director and Director of Operations at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit. There, she played a key role in reopening the hotel, alongside delivering management and commercial development achievements until the hotel clearly elevated its operational standards.

Vision for the brand's distinctive character

Terryn stated that overseeing Kahavadi Chiang Rai since the pre-opening period was a special opportunity that allowed the team to deeply study and understand Lanna culture, in order to align with the Curio Collection by Hilton brand concept, which emphasises the unique identity or Distinctive Character of the brand and the area. She specified that the team's duty is not just to implement Hilton's global standards, but to provide a space for the stories and charm of Chiang Rai to shine through every element of the hotel, particularly the F&B experience which presents local ingredients in an international format.

Terryn's rise to the General Manager position reflects Hilton's support for new-generation leaders and the increasing role of female executives in the hotel and hospitality industry.
