Sodexo Organises ASEAN Chef Exchange 2026, Serving Singaporean Food in Thailand
Sodexo organises the ASEAN Chef Exchange 2026, bringing a Singapore food festival to Thailand and sending representatives abroad to elevate sustainable dining experiences.
Sodexo, a global leader in food services and integrated facilities management, has officially launched the Sodexo ASEAN Chef Exchange 2026 programme to exchange culinary knowledge among chefs across borders. This activity is organised to elevate the dining experience for clients in educational institutions and various organisations, while concretely developing the potential of personnel in line with the Shift & Grow 2030 strategy. The programme kicks off its activities in Thailand from 28 September to 2 October 2026.
A Vision Focused on Innovation and Global Experience
This initiative reflects a commitment to seamlessly combining an understanding of the local market with a global network. Sodexo executives emphasise that collaboration between Thai and international chefs will help open new perspectives and generate immense inspiration at work. This programme aims to create core value in elevating customer experience, developing employee potential and driving food innovation to meet people's needs. The practical knowledge gained will be adapted to create outstanding and unique menus.
Fusing Singaporean Food Culture for Thai Consumers
For the activities held in Thailand, Sodexo welcomed Chef Iskandar, an expert from Singapore, to work with chefs at 5 client sites covering hospitals, educational institutions and business organisations. Participants collaborated to create a variety of popular traditional Singaporean dishes, including Malaysian coconut rice served with chicken satay, Laksa, Singapore fried noodles, Singapore fresh popiah and mango sago with pomelo. This collaboration provides an opportunity for everyone to exchange recipes, ingredient preparation techniques, plating art and guidelines for reducing food waste effectively. This knowledge will be further developed into new menus that meet the long-term needs of clients.
Promoting Learning Through Workshops Outside the Kitchen
In addition to internal personnel development, this programme also allows clients to participate directly through the Chop Chop Chef activity, a cooking workshop held at Dulwich College Bangkok. This event allowed parents and students to get hands-on experience making Singapore fresh popiah closely with expert chefs. Participants learned everything from selecting ingredients cost-effectively to safely using kitchen equipment. This activity not only creates a fun experience but also helps instil an awareness of making the most out of ingredients and reducing food waste among the youth.
Passing the Baton to the Thai Chef Team to Showcase Their Skills Abroad
This culinary collaboration continues between 12 and 16 October 2026, with chef representatives from Sodexo in Thailand travelling to Singapore. The goal of this trip is to present the identity and culture of Thai cuisine for regional colleagues to experience deeply. This programme is considered a two-way knowledge exchange that generates new inspiration for all participants. Combining the strengths of each location with a global network will certainly help elevate food service standards to an even higher level.
