JW Marriott Khao Lak Hotel Promotion: Vegetarian Menu 10-18 October 2026
Discover a hotel promotion for the Vegetarian Festival as JW Marriott Khao Lak partners with SUKJAI to present Northern Thai plant-based cuisine from 10 to 18 October 2026.
Welcome the 2026 Vegetarian Festival with an exclusive hotel promotion as JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa partners with the renowned Chiang Mai restaurant SUKJAI by Pata Obasan to officially launch its newest campaign under the name The Mindful Table. This project presents a plant-based Northern Thai cuisine menu that retains its original bold flavours to please health enthusiasts and those observing the vegetarian precepts. This exclusive event will be held continuously between 10 and 18 October 2026. Guests can experience the flavours at Ta-Krai and Sakura restaurants within the resort.
Elevating local menus with plant-based ingredients
This collaboration stems from the intention to offer new dining alternatives during the Vegetarian Festival. SUKJAI by Pata Obasan, which has been recommended in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand, has reinterpreted authentic Northern Thai recipes. The restaurant's founding chef chooses to use entirely plant-based ingredients in cooking, including making a pork substitute from jackfruit without relying on MSG. Furthermore, there is an emphasis on using ingredients from the JW Garden, which is the resort's organic farm that follows sustainable cultivation concepts.
For the highlight menu at Ta-Krai restaurant, it consists of popular dishes such as sai oua, moo satay, khao soi, mushroom larb, and grilled plant-based meat with jaew dipping sauce. The sai oua and moo satay are made from plant protein but fully retain the texture and aroma of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. The khao soi comes with a rich coconut curry broth, while the plant-based meat is grilled and served with a spicy jaew dipping sauce. At Sakura restaurant, mushroom-based Japanese dishes are presented to increase variety for those wishing to abstain from meat.
New opportunities for health enthusiasts
The Vegetarian Festival in the South, particularly in Phang Nga and Phuket provinces, is considered a tradition that has been passed down for over two hundred years. The presentation of this new food menu is therefore a blend of traditional culture and current consumption trends. The resort's management believes that plant-based food can well answer the needs for taste and deliciousness. The launch of this campaign is thus considered an expansion of new culinary perspectives, as well as preserving the roots of Thai food culture to live on.
