Heritage Shares Shiitake and Cashew Nut Chilli Paste Recipe for Home Cooking

Heritage introduces a shiitake mushroom and cashew nut chilli paste recipe for the vegetarian festival that can be made and enjoyed at home every day.

Heritage Shares Shiitake and Cashew Nut Chilli Paste Recipe for Home Cooking

The Heritage Group, a manufacturer of premium nuts, grains and dried fruit for cooking, has introduced a new vegetarian recipe called Shiitake Mushroom Chilli Paste with Cashew Nuts for this year's vegetarian festival. The recipe stir-fries large-piece shiitake mushrooms from the Goldfish brand together with cashew nuts from Heritage Eat & Bake Ready, resulting in a rich-flavoured vegetarian chilli paste that can be made at home and eaten every day, not just during the festival.

The Nutritional Value Hidden in This Chilli Paste

Shiitake mushrooms contain beta-glucan and lentinan, which help stimulate the immune system. They also help lower blood cholesterol and support heart health. In addition, they are a source of vitamin D and B vitamins, along with natural protein that can help replace the energy normally obtained from meat during the vegetarian festival.

Cashew nuts, meanwhile, are high in good fats that help nourish the blood vessels and heart, and are rich in magnesium, phosphorus and copper, which help strengthen bones and teeth. The protein and dietary fibre in cashew nuts also help delay hunger and keep blood sugar levels stable throughout the day.

How to Make Shiitake Mushroom Chilli Paste with Cashew Nuts

The main ingredients are 60 grams of diced Goldfish brand shiitake mushrooms, 3 tablespoons of Heritage Eat & Bake Ready cashew nuts, 1 teaspoon of chilli powder, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of vegetarian fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of vegetarian seasoning powder and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

  • Wash the shiitake mushrooms thoroughly and soak them in clean water for 2 to 3 hours until fully soaked and softened, then dice them.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and stir-fry the diced mushrooms until fragrant.
  • Add all the seasonings and the cashew nuts, mix well, then transfer to a plate ready to serve.
  • A larger batch can be made and stored in a jar to eat on the following days.
