GI Fest 2026 Brings 34 Geographical Indication Product Stalls to Paradise Park

The Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce, together with Paradise Park, part of the MBK group of shopping centres, is holding GI Fest 2026, a trade fair for Geographical Indication (GI) products from across the country. More than 34 stalls will take part from 24 to 27 September 2026 at Paradise Park Srinakarin, so that consumers can buy directly from the producers without having to travel far to the source.

GI Products from Across Thailand in One Place

Mrs Oramon Sapthaweetham, Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property, said the event continues a collaboration with Paradise Park that began in 2020. This year, entrepreneurs from communities around the country are given space to sell their products themselves and explain what makes them special, so that city residents can get to know GI products and reach them more easily.

The approach is in line with the policy of Mrs Suphajee Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, who wants to use intellectual property to add value to products, generate income and create lasting marketing opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Featured Products Not to Miss

The products at the fair are linked to the terrain, climate and local knowledge of each area. They fall into several groups, as follows.

• Premium fruit such as Prachin durian, with firm, sweet, rich flesh; Bang Khla aromatic coconut from Chachoengsao, with a soft, sweet fragrance; and Phu Lae pineapple from Chiang Rai, which is small but juicy and crisp, and can be eaten core and all.
• Food and ingredients such as Surat Thani oysters, large in size with sweet flesh; Mae Klong mackerel from Samut Songkhram; Bang Bo snakeskin gourami from Samut Prakan; Chanthaburi pepper; Khao Wong sticky rice from Kalasin; and Lum Phua rain-fed rice from Phetchabun.
• Drinks and snacks such as Thep Sadet coffee from Chiang Mai, grown high in the mountains, and Yarang lukyee (Yarang jujube-like fruit), with a well-balanced sweet and sour taste.
• Handicrafts such as Koh Kret pottery from Nonthaburi and authentic Lampang rooster bowls, made from rare local clay.

Besides shopping, visitors can learn the story behind each product, from where it is made and the knowledge involved to the way of life of the people in the community. Buying directly from the entrepreneurs also returns income to the community and helps pass local knowledge on to the next generation.

Promotion and Event Details

Shoppers who spend 500 baht on GI products at the fair can take their receipt to exchange for 1 kilogram of jasmine rice free of charge, subject to the conditions set by the shopping centre.
