Central Bang Na Unveils Major Revamp with 300 New Brands, Events to October
Central Bang Na is transforming into a mixed-use development, bringing in more than 300 new brands and a continuous run of festivals in Bangkok through to October.
Central Bang Na shopping centre, managed by Central Pattana, has announced a major revamp under a new mixed-use master plan, starting from September. The first phase focuses on the shopping centre itself, covering 330,000 square metres, with more than 300 new shops and brands opening in stages, alongside a continuous programme of more than 200 events throughout the year, to serve the spending power of residents in eastern Bangkok, marking the centre's 33 years of growth alongside the Bang Na area.
Centre-wide revamp under the Living Gallery concept
The new design for the entire shopping centre follows the Living Gallery concept, with a focus on copper and rose gold tones to appeal to wealth, family and younger customer groups in the area. Data from The1 membership base shows that Central Bang Na ranks among the top 5 shopping centres with a proportion of wealthy family customers exceeding 85%, who continue to return regularly even while renovation work is under way.
Footfall at the centre has currently doubled compared with the previous year, particularly during holidays, when visitor numbers have reached as high as 45,000 to 50,000 people a day. Meanwhile, the new flagship-format Central department store will be progressively revamped and will open in full in 2027, together with the new 6,000-square-metre entertainment zone X Venture and Fun City, both launching in the same year.
Popular brands opening in stages, spanning dining and fashion
In November, Katsumidori Sushi, the renowned Japanese conveyor-belt sushi chain, is set to open its first branch in Thailand. Meanwhile, NO Brand from South Korea will open as a stand-alone store carrying more than 2,300 products, with a deli zone serving fresh Korean food inside the store. Other restaurants opening in stages include:
- SUSHIRO, CHAGEE, SOLSOT, Sushi ROKA by SEKI (first branch in Thailand)
- Mo-Mo-Paradise, Hitori Shabu, Gong cha, SAEMAEUL
- Ket Tiew, Yuen Kee Dumpling, Nong Geng Ji, The Baristro
- Greyhound Café, Ramen Neo, YAKINIKU LIKE, Boost Juice
On the fashion and lifestyle side, new brands joining the line-up include ANTA, adidas, Pandora, Uniqlo, Marimekko, H&M, MUJI, Sunnies Studios, MANGO and BEAUTRIUM, a multi-brand concept store bringing together Thai designers and international brands, along with a large-format Tops Food Hall, the most premium in the area, and the Food Patio zone featuring Michelin Guide restaurants and popular outlets with more than 500 menu items.
