True boosts 5G for Udon Thani Horticultural Expo 2026 to drive Isan MICE tourism
True Corporation is expanding base stations and internet for the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 from 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027 to support Isan tourism.
True Corporation has announced its support for the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 by upgrading both its mobile and internet communications networks to accommodate millions of expected Thai and international visitors travelling to the event at the Nong Dae Wetland in Udon Thani province from 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027, spanning 134 days. True views the event as an opportunity to connect travellers from around the world with the economy and tourism of the Isan region.
This collaboration follows discussions between Oliver Kittipong Veerataecha, Chief Brand and Communications Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, and representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Udon Thani province, the Department of Agriculture, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) regarding digital technology support for this international event. True stated that the horticultural expo serves as a platform to showcase the agricultural strengths and innovations of the Isan region globally, offering an opportunity for hotels, restaurants, and local businesses to welcome and present their products and services to new groups of tourists.
Expanding base stations and enterprise internet around the venue
For the mobile network, True is preparing mobile base station vehicles and small cells across 5 locations to increase 5G and 4G coverage in key areas, namely the Public Relations Building, the Cactus Building, the Administration Building, the Greenhouse Building, and the Welcome Building and Food Court area, where high concurrent user traffic is expected.
For back-of-house operations, True is providing enterprise internet in the Public Relations Building, the Administration Building, the Welcome Building, and the Office Center to support staff coordination and media reporting, alongside offering True WIFI services at designated points for visitors.

Using AI to manage network capacity and digital security
True is deploying AI to analyse usage patterns, data volume, and network density throughout the event to adjust capacity in line with visitor numbers at any given time. Its intelligent network operations centre, the Business Network Intelligence Center or BNIC, will monitor signal quality 24 hours a day, with heightened monitoring during weekends and public holidays when visitor numbers are expected to rise.
Additionally, True is safeguarding digital usage through its True CyberSafe service, which uses AI to detect and block malicious links or websites, as well as to alert users to incoming calls and SMS messages that pose a scam risk, enabling visitors to communicate and upload photos or videos to share their experiences with confidence.
