Thai Media Fund Sends Delegates to ASEAN-China Camp to Expand Trade Show Network
The Thai Media Fund sent delegates to the 2026 ASEAN China Youth Hosts Camp to exchange media knowledge and build connections for international trade exhibitions.
As a partner agency of Thailand, the Thai Media Fund moves forward in promoting international mass communication cooperation by sending two Thai media representatives to participate in the 2026 ASEAN China Youth Hosts Camp, held from 15 to 20 September 2026. This project is part of the preparations for the major 8th ASEAN-China Media Week in the People's Republic of China. The primary goal of this activity is to promote collaboration and provide an opportunity for experience exchange among regional mass media personnel. Furthermore, it strongly paves the way to connect the personnel network to the Thailand MICE industry and the organisation of future international trade exhibitions.
Expanding International and Regional Media Networks
This media camp successfully gathered media representatives from all 11 ASEAN member states for the first time in the event's history. It also seamlessly connected news anchors and young reporters from Hong Kong and mainland China, bringing together a total of 31 participants. This gathering provided a broad platform for media professionals from diverse cultures to learn and share their working perspectives. It marks a crucial step in conveying stories of good relations and fostering a correct understanding between the peoples of China and ASEAN nations.
In addition to academic exchanges, participants travelled for study visits to several major cities, from Nanning and Beijing to Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei. The locations visited reflect the concrete application of innovation and advanced technology in real-world operations. Examples include the China-ASEAN AI Cooperation Centre, the Muara Smart Port, and the 23rd CAEXPO trade exhibition, which serves as a major regional platform. Furthermore, participants visited the operational sites of leading media organisations such as China Daily and Beijing Radio & Television Station.
Enhancing Content Production Skills for the Digital Media Era
This young reporters camp also placed significant emphasis on developing the professional skills of media workers by organising an in-depth learning exchange at the Communication University of China. This allowed participants to hear perspectives from experts and academics on the sustainable long-term development of communication personnel. All participants had the opportunity to produce actual content in the form of Vlogs, photo sets, text, and short documentaries. These high-quality works were distributed to the public through leading social media platforms in both China and internationally, effectively communicating the story of cooperation through the lens of the new generation.
