Siam Takashimaya Hosts Japanese Fair from 3 to 12 November 2026 at ICONSIAM
Siam Takashimaya celebrates its 8th anniversary with WA! JAPAN: CRAFT & MATCHA, showcasing Japanese handicrafts and green tea from 3 to 12 November 2026 at ICONSIAM.
Siam Takashimaya, the only authentic Japanese department store in Thailand, is hosting WA! JAPAN: CRAFT & MATCHA under the concept HARMONY OF JAPAN, the charm of Japan, to celebrate its 8th anniversary. The event takes place from 3 to 12 November 2026 at Charoennakorn Hall, M Floor, ICONSIAM, providing a space for cultural exchange and networking between Thailand and Japan. It brings together traditional handicrafts, apparel, high-quality green tea, and workshop activities by renowned Japanese artisans and artists for visitors to experience up close.
Highlights of Handicrafts and Contemporary Designs
A major highlight of the event is the exhibition of 10 kimono pieces from IWAMOTO of Kyoto, worth over 13 million baht in total, shown for the first time in Thailand exclusively from 4 to 7 November 2026. Each piece reflects fine Japanese textile artistry, including dyeing techniques, intricate embroidery, and a long history. In addition, the event features the BENJARONG TOWER sculpture standing over 2 metres tall by artist Takanao Todo, alongside the launch of a new Bizen Ware pottery series created in collaboration with Hiroyuki Matsui.
The event also features limited-edition collaborative works, such as the HAKUHODO Benjarong Kinoko Brush exclusivity collection makeup brush, which combines porcelain from Okura Toen with Thai Benjarong craftsmanship, and the Ball & Chain Thai Exclusive Design bag featuring Wat Arun and elephant patterns designed in collaboration with IWAMOTO. Visitors can also purchase apparel from the Margaux Vintage fashion house, making its debut in Thailand specifically for the 8th anniversary event. Alongside this is quality tea from Horiguchi Tea Farm, a tea plantation spanning over 1,800 rai in Kagoshima Prefecture that meets international standards and won an award at the Global Tea Championship 2025.
CRAFT ZONE and MATCHA ZONE by Japanese Producers
