OOTOYA x Juli Baker and Summer: 4 Mug Designs, 390 THB, On Sale 14 Sept 2026

OOTOYA, the authentic Japanese restaurant managed by Central Restaurants Group, has partnered with Juli Baker and Summer, or Parn-Chanaradee Chatrakul Na Ayudhya, an artist and illustrator known for her vibrant, colourful works, to launch an Exclusive Collection under the concept "Inspired by Taste, Crafted as Art". The products will be available from 14 September 2026 at OOTOYA branches in Bangkok and its vicinity. This project aims to connect food, art and lifestyle, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer.

When memories of the restaurant become art on a mug

This collection tells the story of the artist's and her family's connection to OOTOYA through illustrations on ceramic mugs and stainless tumblers, featuring a total of four designs. OOTOYA views this collaboration as a way to extend the in-restaurant experience into customers' daily lives, rather than just releasing a special edition product.

Teeraporn Chanha, Assistant Managing Director of the OOTOYA brand, stated that the brand wants to open up new perspectives for the younger generation to see that Japanese food can fit more seamlessly into their lifestyle, while still maintaining the restaurant's identity: warm Japanese cuisine that feels like a home-cooked meal. The primary target audience is Gen Z and Millennials who value experiences and self-expression.

Four designs, four inspirations from the restaurant

  • Tatami is inspired by tatami mats, conveying a warm and friendly atmosphere akin to being in a Japanese-style home.
  • Bonsai incorporates bonsai trees and plum blossoms (Ume) to reflect the tranquillity, simplicity and aura of a Japanese garden.
  • Dango uses the dango dessert from the restaurant's menu as a prototype, conveying simplicity and happy moments at the dining table.
  • Veggies stems from the experience of the artist, who typically does not eat many vegetables, but found that OOTOYA's vegetable dishes are delicious and well-balanced.

Prices, privileges and purchase conditions

The ceramic mug is priced at 390 THB each, while the stainless tumbler is 420 THB each. The products are available in limited quantities. Customers who purchase a mug will receive a 15% discount coupon for drinks and desserts when dining at any OOTOYA branch nationwide, subject to the company's terms and conditions.

Buying one mug helps support breast cancer patients

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this mug collection will be donated to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer. Therefore, purchasing a mug is both keeping a piece of art for personal use and sharing with society.

This news is of interest to collectors of artist-designed mugs, fans of Japanese restaurants, and those looking to purchase items that support health initiatives. Meanwhile, restaurant and marketing professionals can look to this as an example of an art collaboration that uses a brand's narrative to create products and foster engagement with the younger generation.
