Novo Nordisk Hosts Health Event and City Run in Song Wat from 23 to 25 October 2026

Novo Nordisk Pharma (Thailand) is organising a health promotion and exercise event in the Song Wat area of Bangkok from 23 to 25 October 2026 to build an accurate understanding among the public on managing obesity and chronic diseases. The event is held alongside the company's corporate rebrand under the concept Lasting Health Starts Now, which aims to support Thai people in starting to take care of their health sustainably. Interested participants can join the City Run, attend medical talks, take physical fitness tests, and take photos at various spots free of charge.

Health Mission and Addressing Obesity Among Thai People

Information from the organiser indicates that obesity is a chronic disease that serves as the root cause of more than 200 complications, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, and fatty liver disease. Currently, 45 per cent of Thai people and 56 per cent of Bangkok residents are facing this condition, leading to an online trend comparing the difficulty of living with obesity to facing an unlucky zodiac year (Pi Chong). Novo Nordisk has therefore adapted the concept of resolving an unlucky year into creative activities to communicate that health and weight issues can be alleviated through accurate knowledge and exercise.

The event combines health knowledge with lifestyle, featuring Dr Suthipoj Pattaramongkolkarn, a preventive medicine specialist from the Zerosick channel, sharing knowledge on weight management through Quality Weight Loss. This approach focuses on reducing fat whilst preserving muscle mass for long-term physical strength. In addition, actor and model Luke Ishikawa Plowden, along with Daran Setthinich from The Face Thailand season 3, will join to inspire participants and challenge their physical strength.

Activities begin on 23 October 2026 at 06.30 with a morning City Run through the culinary districts of Song Wat and Yaowarat alongside Araya from the @kinraideeva page. The event continues on 24 and 25 October 2026 at Song Wat Market, which opens as a learning space on obesity and a venue to test muscle strength in the Muscle Strength Challenge. From 15.00 to 18.00 on 24 October 2026, there will be a special talk by Dr Suthipoj Pattaramongkolkarn and Luke Ishikawa Plowden, whilst 25 October 2026 features a meet-and-greet activity with Daran Setthinich.
