Minor Hotels Signs Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort, Opening in 2029
Minor Hotels has signed with Ashya Group to develop a 185-unit lakeside resort in Telangana, India, scheduled to open in 2029.
Minor Hotels has announced that it signed a development agreement with Ashya Group on 22 September 2026 for Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort, a new lakeside resort in the southern Indian state of Telangana. Set on 37 acres beside the Karavena reservoir, about 90 kilometres from Hyderabad, the resort is scheduled to open in 2029 and is Ashya Group's first hotel project.
A quiet setting with easy access to the city
The project lies outside Hyderabad, surrounded by private natural landscape. Guests can reach it from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in around 60 minutes, or about 71 kilometres. Travel to central Hyderabad takes around an hour and a half.
Hyderabad is one of India's fastest-growing metropolitan areas, so the location suits both those who want to escape the bustle and those who still need to stay connected to a major city.
Rooms, villas and residences
The resort will have 185 units in total, comprising rooms and villas. Rooms start at 48 square metres, while there will be 47 pool villas ranging from 90 to 280 square metres.
Next to the resort, a further 50 Anantara Residences are planned for those seeking luxury long-term living beside the lake.
The design draws inspiration from the architecture of the Kakatiya Dynasty, using stone construction and geometric patterns throughout the public areas and villas, giving the region's design heritage a contemporary interpretation.
Dining, spa and event space
For food and beverage, the resort will have an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a health cafe, a lobby lounge and a pool bar.
Facilities include Anantara Spa, a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool and a kids club. For events, there will be a ballroom, smaller meeting rooms and an outdoor lawn, accommodating a range of meetings and events.

Continued expansion in India
Shashider Reddy Munugala, Founder and Chairman of Ashya Group, said the project reflects the belief that hospitality should be driven by nature and its surroundings, and that the group hopes to draw on Minor Hotels' experience to develop a nature-led destination.

Heinecke, Chairman and Founder of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels, said the lakeside location and design concept create an opportunity to build experiences that connect guests more deeply with the place, and are another step that strengthens the company's position in southern India.
Minor Hotels introduced the Anantara Hotels and Resorts brand to India for the first time in 2025 with Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel, and aims to have 50 hotels in India within the next decade. Previously announced projects include Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Anantara Kolkata Hotel, announced in April 2026, as well as Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort, announced in 2025.
