The MICHELIN Guide has announced its 2026 MICHELIN Key selection, with 71 hotels and resorts in Thailand, including 15 new entries.
The MICHELIN Guide has announced the hotels awarded a MICHELIN Key for 2026. Thailand has 71 hotels and resorts in the selection, according to information published on 21 Sep 2026. Inspectors stayed anonymously over many months to select the properties offering the most outstanding experiences. Worldwide, 2,832 hotels in 79 countries have received the award.
How many Keys Thailand won and who moved up
The MICHELIN Key has three levels. This year Thailand has 6 hotels with three Keys, 22 with two Keys and 43 with one Key, making 71 in total. Of these, 15 hotels are new to the selection and 5 have been promoted.
By level, one hotel has moved up to three Keys. At two Keys, one hotel is new to the selection and 4 have been promoted. At one Key, as many as 14 hotels are new to the selection.

Examples of properties mentioned
At the three-Key level is Capella Bangkok, on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River, which opened in 2020. The hotel has shaded gardens, a riverside swimming pool, restaurants and a spa. Its rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and a décor that blends Eastern and Western influences.
At the two-Key level is Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, set on a hillside that slopes down to a private beach. Every villa opens onto wide sea views and has its own private infinity pool.
At the one-Key level is Villa Mahabhirom in Chiang Mai, which uses 14 traditional Thai teak houses decorated with antiques and works of art. Another is Maison Mystique in Khao Yai, a boutique hotel with a striking white building and interiors inspired by the world of cinema.
The global picture and a senior view
Worldwide, there are 155 hotels with three Keys, 657 with two Keys and 2,020 with one Key. There are 470 new hotels in the selection and more than 80 have been promoted. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, sees this year's second simultaneous global announcement as a reflection of the growth of the hospitality industry.
He said operators around the world are designing stay experiences that are deeper and more personal. The drive comes both from visionary independent hoteliers and from investment by international hotel groups, which helps change happen faster.
