Marriott International to Open Seven New Hotels Across Thailand
Marriott International and Fico Corporation announce an expansion plan to launch 7 new hotels, adding over a thousand rooms across popular Thai tourist destinations.
Marriott International, in collaboration with Fico Corporation, announced a significant agreement on 5 October 2026 to prepare for the launch of 7 new hotels in Thailand. This project will cover major economic and tourist areas, namely Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket, and is expected to increase the number of rooms in the system by up to 1,262 rooms. This business expansion marks the first time these world-renowned brands are being introduced to provide services in Thailand, elevating the hospitality industry to meet the needs of modern travellers.
Launching new brands for Bangkok staycations and travellers
For locations in Bangkok, JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn will be launched, which is a 288-room luxury hotel. This project focuses on providing premium-level services, complete with sports facilities and a comprehensive lifestyle hub. In addition, the 147-room citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 brand will be introduced. This brand will focus on contemporary design and modern technology, making it ideal for those who truly desire a Bangkok staycation atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Another brand group that will enter the market is Four Points Flex by Sheraton, which will launch simultaneously across 3 locations in the Sukhumvit and Surawong areas, namely Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 8, Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 14, and Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Surawong. This group of hotels is designed to emphasise convenience and is located near BTS Skytrain stations. The design will prioritise value and efficiency to cater to guests who are constantly travelling.
Expanding into major tourist cities and strengthening partnerships
In the provincial areas, Marriott International has introduced its newest collection brand, Series by Marriott, into the resort market, namely Easy Planet North Pattaya, Series by Marriott, and Easy Planet Phuket Patong, Series by Marriott. This brand is designed to allow guests to easily access the unique identity of those locations, while delivering a consistent standard of service for every stay.
The signing of this agreement builds upon the success of the existing partnership between Marriott International and Fico Corporation, which currently co-manages 4 hotels in Bangkok. This further business expansion will result in both organisations sharing a combined portfolio of 11 hotels under 8 diverse brands.
