Department of Land Development Opens 'Soil Pavilion' at Toyota Farm Expo 2026, IMPACT

Thailand's Department of Land Development is opening the Soil Pavilion exhibition, free of charge to the general public, farmers, academics, school and university students, and entrepreneurs. It is part of Toyota Farm Expo 2026, one of Thailand's major agricultural trade shows, held in Halls 5 to 8 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Exhibition and Convention Centre, Nonthaburi Province, from 24 to 27 September 2026. Under the theme Healthy Soil for Future Sustainability, the exhibition shows visitors the importance of soil as the foundation of food production and quality of life.

Inside the Soil Pavilion exhibition

The exhibition begins by telling the story of how soil is formed and how soil layers change, using an LED Square digital screen. Visitors are then taken beneath the surface with an animation series, Life in the Soil, which explains the composition of soil, the organisms that live in it and the indicators of soil health.

The next section turns to the state of soil in Thailand. Visitors can get close to models of problem soils and good soils, including highly acidic soil, saline soil, shallow soil, very sandy soil, organic soil, leached soil and black soil, and learn about their causes and management approaches through videos and exhibition boards. The exhibition closes with a Projection Mapping presentation of soil management models, which reflects the royal initiatives on land development and the application of technology for sustainable land use.

Workshops and hands-on learning

The highlight of the event is the chance for visitors to learn by doing through workshops. These include soil testing with advice from officials, mixing soil yourself, and learning about soil biotechnology such as the Super PD accelerator, with practical advice that can be applied to visitors' own farmland.

Along the exhibition route, a digital system called Nong Din Di provides further knowledge, together with a registration and evaluation system, a photo corner and souvenirs made from soil. Visitors gain knowledge and first-hand experience, and can put what they learn into practice straight away.
