Hong Kong Fisherman, a Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant that has been operating at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani for over 20 years, is now taking orders for 8 flavours of handcrafted mooncakes for the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival. The mooncakes are packaged in a red box trimmed with gold symbolising wealth, suitable for both personal consumption and as gifts. Orders can be placed from today until 25 September 2026, which coincides exactly with this year's Mid-Autumn Festival day.
Meticulous pastry and fillings
The restaurant's Hong Kong head chef, Chow Tai Shing, explained that the charm of the traditional recipe lies in making the pastry. The team kneads the dough using a handcrafted method piece by piece, using a specially formulated syrup to control the sweetness until the pastry is smooth, soft and perfectly thin.
Once baked, the mooncakes attain a beautiful golden colour and sharp patterns. As for the fillings, high-grade ingredients are selected so that the flavours blend perfectly with the pastry.
8 flavours, divided into traditional and contemporary recipes
The first group is The Imperial Tradition, which are traditional flavours. These consist of Hong Kong lotus seed with salted egg yolk, Hong Kong lotus seed, and Hong Kong red bean with salted egg yolk, all three of which are the restaurant's signature flavours. Another flavour is durian with salted egg yolk, featuring rich durian paste paired with a full salted egg yolk.
The second group is The Modern Heritage, comprising contemporary flavours. The annual highlight is the Hong Kong milk tea flavour, which blends the richness of Ceylon tea with the smoothness of milk. The other three flavours are low-sugar green tea, finely ground roasted coffee which is ideal to eat with hot tea, and Cantonese-style custard which is fragrant with butter and fresh milk.
