Thai Silk Exhibition by International Designers Opens at Siam Paragon, 11 to 18 Oct 2026
TAT showcases Thai silk outfits by designers from over 100 countries at Siam Paragon from 11 to 18 Oct 2026 to welcome global meetings and build on Thailand's MICE sector.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand, in collaboration with the Association of Thai Silk and Culture Promotion, has organised a fashion show under the Amazing Thailand Global Thai Silk Exhibition project, or the Thai Silk to the World Exhibition, with Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, presiding over the opening ceremony. This event is held to promote Thai wisdom and cultural heritage to an international audience on the occasion of Thailand hosting the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group. Members of the public and interested visitors can view the Thai silk garments crafted by international designers from 11 to 18 October 2026 on the 1st Floor and at the Living Hall on the 3rd Floor of Siam Paragon shopping centre.
Collaboration Across a Designer Network From 6 Regions Worldwide
A key highlight of this fashion showcase is the presentation of Thai silk creations newly designed and tailored by international designers from 6 regions, namely Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, America and South America. The Association of Thai Silk and Culture Promotion expanded its collaboration by sending Thai silk to a network of designers in more than 100 countries worldwide. Designers from each country integrated Thai silk with their own national identity, culture and traditions, resulting in contemporary fashion works that reflect cultural diversity through an international creative perspective.
Creating Garments From Over 500 Metres of Black Thai Silk in Royal Remembrance
Another important element of the project is the selection of more than 500 metres of black Thai silk to be tailored into contemporary attire. The choice of black is linked to a period of mourning, in remembrance of the royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, as well as Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siribajra Maha Watchara Ratchathida. Furthermore, it conveys the story and cultural value of Thai silk to international designers, reflecting the role of the fashion industry in connecting people and promoting international cultural exchange.
