Continuum Art Exhibition at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok Starts 16 October 2026

The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK is adding a new event to its year-end calendar, inviting art enthusiasts to view a new exhibition titled Continuum. This exhibition is held to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the opening of the hotel's art space, opening to the general public from 16 October 2026 to 31 January 2027. The exhibition presents a connection between Thai art and contemporary artworks. Visitors will experience a cross-generational dialogue that reflects the thoughts and imagination of Thai artists.

A Blend of Master Artists and the New Generation

The highlight of this event is the use of artworks from the MOCA BANGKOK collection as a starting point for young artists. Artworks by seven legendary Thai master artists will be on display. These works are by renowned artists such as Pratuang Emjaroen, Thawan Duchanee, Sompong Adulyasarapan, Ithipol Thangchalok, Suchao Sisganes, Praphan Srisouta, and Chalermchai Kositpipat. These masterful pieces will serve as the initial inspiration, from which 14 contemporary artists who have previously collaborated with the art space will create new artworks.

The creation of artworks by the new generation of artists in this exhibition is open to full interpretation based on their individual perspectives and personal experiences. The artists are not limited merely to inheriting traditional working styles but are also given the opportunity to question and discover new artistic meanings. The resulting works are therefore connected to the modern world and clearly present the unique artistic language of each artist. Visitors will receive a diverse experience from the interpretations of all 14 artists, with each piece telling a different story based on the foundational concepts of its creator.

Discovering a New Meaning of Thainess

In addition to showcasing artworks, this exhibition also invites viewers to look back at the development of modern Thai art. Art in earlier eras adopted conceptual influences from the West, blending them with traditional Thai beliefs and culture. Thai artists have applied their social experiences and imagination to create compelling, unique identities. These works thus help narrate the relationship between Thainess and the outside world, as well as the balance between traditional beliefs and rationality in the modern world.

Viewers will see Thainess expressed through various forms, ranging from religion, beliefs, and rituals to the beauty of nature and mythical creatures. Simultaneously, these beliefs can be freely conveyed through pop culture and street art, as well as the use of technology to create new things. This exhibition therefore opens a new perspective, demonstrating that Thai art is never stagnant and can evolve over time. The artistic heritage of the past remains alive and is always ready to be developed into new meanings.
