Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket has renovated Panwa Lodge, a 321 sq m seafront house in Tropical Colonial style with a large private swimming pool.
Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket, part of Cape & Kantary Hotels, has completely renovated Panwa Lodge, the hotel's seafront house, with a Tropical Colonial concept that blends the charm of Western architecture with a tropical atmosphere. The aim is to give guests who want privacy a large house with its own swimming pool. The project is part of a plan to upgrade the group's guest rooms and facilities to welcome Premium Luxury travellers.
A 321 sq m seafront house with a private pool
Panwa Lodge has a total area of 321 square metres, including 160 square metres of indoor space and a 37.6 square metre outdoor swimming pool. Entering the house, guests find a spacious living room hall. Two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, are in the right wing, while the other side holds a large dining room and a bar counter.
The area at the back is a relaxation room that converts into a sofa bed, so the house can be used as up to 3 bedrooms. At the front, a wide terrace opens onto the pool, with a seating area and sun loungers. The space around the pool is large enough to host a pool party.
Tropical Colonial design inspired by Sino-Portuguese houses
Khun Theerawalk Pangsriwong (Waew), business owner and project development manager for the Cape & Kantary Hotels group, said the design set out to capture the charm of Baan Panwa House, a Sino-Portuguese style mansion. The main colours are therefore olive green, cream and earth tones. The decoration is simple and warm, with life added by a variety of plants.
The eaves are decorated with fretwork in the style of a gingerbread house, and the same fretwork pattern is used as an interior decorative element. Glass windows and doors around the house bring in natural light, making the interior airy and connected to the views outside.
Original antiques such as a four-poster bed, tables and classic wooden cabinets were kept and arranged together with rattan-upholstered wooden chairs, lamps and tropical-style decorations. The hotel gives priority to local products and domestic producers. Curtains and pillowcases use linen and cotton fabrics with a relaxed feel.
Coconut details and the monkey rattan table
A coconut palm theme appears throughout the house, from woven rattan lamps shaped like coconut palms, patterns on cushions and dark brown tiles, to a painting of fresh green coconut palms behind the bar. Another highlight is a woven rattan table in the shape of a monkey, which draws a second look.
The dining room uses dark brown tables and chairs on an orange-toned tile floor, with cream and olive green helping to create balance. The bedrooms use an antique four-poster bed with wooden and rattan furniture in cream and light green tones, creating a calm and natural atmosphere.
The hotel's ongoing renovation programme
Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket began its renovation programme for guest rooms and restaurants in late 2025. So far, it has completed the Mediterranean restaurant Top of the Reef, the Pool Villa rooms, Panwa Suite Sea View and Panwa Suite Garden View.
