Opening Ceremony Highlights and Auspicious Performances

For the opening day on 9 October 2026, the organising committee has prepared grand celebration activities to bring auspiciousness to visitors. Attendees will witness an imperial golden dragon parade measuring 35 metres in length, followed by a dragon performance paying respects to the Bodhisattva Guanyin and an exhilarating plum blossom pole jumping lion dance. Furthermore, there will be a traditional firecracker lighting ceremony and the paying of respects to sacred entities, led by Master Katha Chinbanchorn, to enhance fortunes and receive blessings during the festival.

Another unmissable special activity on the opening day is the creation of an auspicious menu, the Eight Immortals Imperial GI Fried Rice, prepared by Chef Jao Pakapat Saksyaso, a skilled chef from the Xian Yuan Chinese restaurant. This activity is honoured by the presence of Master Katha Chinbanchorn, along with the executive committee and distinguished guests serving as witnesses. The uniqueness of this menu lies in the selection of premium quality GI rice from four regions of Thailand, cooked for the first time within this event space. After the cooking is completed, this auspicious menu will be distributed as alms to the public attending the event. This food distribution signifies abundance, auspiciousness, and clearly reflects the power of sharing according to the core intention of the Vegetarian Festival.

Gathering of Vegetarian Restaurants and Merit-Making Activities

The event space has been designed as a hub of deliciousness, gathering more than 50 renowned vegetarian restaurants and local eateries. They will present a combined menu of over 300 savoury and sweet vegetarian dishes and snacks, allowing consumers and food enthusiasts to purchase to their heart's content. In addition to enjoying the food, attendees can also enter to pay respects and seek blessings from the Bodhisattva Guanyin, as well as participate in merit-making activities for just 39 baht. Those who join in making merit will receive a blessing set for auspiciousness, consisting of 3 pearl necklaces, 2 LED candles, and an auspicious bag in a colour of their choice. All proceeds from the merit-making will be used to support several charitable organisations, such as the animal rescue project at Wat Ku, the War Veterans Organization of Thailand, the sick monks clinic at Wat Chonprathan Rangsarit, and the Foundation for the Welfare of Disabled Animals.

Throughout the 10 days of the event, the organising committee has also initiated the J GIVING project to pass on happiness through meals. They will distribute free food exchange coupons for 50 entitlements per day, totalling 500 entitlements throughout the festival. Those interested can easily participate by following the conditions: liking the activity post and following the Facebook page of the Cosmo Bazaar shopping centre. This activity provides an opportunity for attendees to eat delicious food at no cost while experiencing a culture of compassion. Furthermore, the organisers have prepared special promotions from shops within the Cosmo Bazaar mall and the Outlet Square area to welcome visitors who wish to shop during this festival.

This press release regarding the organisation of this year's Vegetarian Festival is highly interesting for the general public who enjoy eating healthy food and vegetarian cuisine, as well as family groups looking for a place to relax and do activities together during the festival holidays. It is also beneficial for event organisers and restaurant entrepreneurs, who can use the event format as a case study or reference information regarding space management for organising food festival activities at the regional level.
