Bangkok Airways Boutique Series Ends with Chiang Mai Half Marathon 2026
Bangkok Airways closed its 2026 Boutique Series with the Chiang Mai Half Marathon, drawing nearly 3,000 runners including actress Urassaya Sperbund, who ran the 5km event.
Bangkok Airways brought its major annual running event, the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2026, to a close with its final leg, the Chiang Mai Half Marathon 2026, held on 26-27 September 2026 at Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai. Nearly 3,000 Thai and international runners took part, with actress and airline brand ambassador Urassaya Sperbund joining the 5-kilometre run to add to the festive atmosphere.
This race marked the final stop of the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2026, which the airline has organised for eight consecutive years, combining running events with the unique character of each destination to promote sports tourism alongside boosting local economies. Runners who attended also spent money in the area, on accommodation, restaurants and various services provided by businesses in Chiang Mai.
Route Passes Natural Landmarks and Lanna Culture
The race route began at Royal Park Rajapruek, passing through the Royal Project Agricultural Research and Development Centre and Wat Phra That Doi Kham, allowing runners to experience nature, local life and the beauty of Chiang Mai all at once. Another highlight of this final race of the year was actress and airline brand ambassador Urassaya Sperbund, who ran the 5-kilometre distance alongside general runners, bringing excitement and positive energy to participants throughout the route.
Three Race Distances, PUMA Finisher Shirts and Children's Activities
The race was divided into three distances: the 21-kilometre half marathon, the 10-kilometre mini marathon and the 5-kilometre fun run. Half marathon runners who finished within the 4-hour cut-off time received a limited-edition Finisher by PUMA shirt as a memento. There was also a Kids Series Race over 800 metres, held on Saturday 26 September 2026, open to children aged up to 12 to take part in an adventurous run and exercise together.
