B.Grimm Announces Intergenerational Concept Contest Results at EmQuartier on 10 Oct 2026

B.Grimm, in collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology at Chulalongkorn University, the Thailand Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS), and Sati App, organised a creative concept competition under the Youth for Change: The Mindful Future Contest project on the theme “Different Generations… Understanding Each Other Through the Power of Mindfulness” to encourage young people to learn active listening and understand generational differences. The final round and project exhibition were held during the 5th Better Mind Better Bangkok 2026 on 10 October 2026 at Q Stadium, EmQuartier shopping centre. The programme aims to develop university students’ skills through the Design Thinking process and mindful communication, enabling the resulting concepts to be further developed for long-term social benefit.

A Platform for Developing Youth Potential Through Design Thinking and Compassion

The competition attracted 141 university students across 37 teams from 16 higher education institutions nationwide who submitted entries to the project. All participants underwent training in mindfulness, compassion, and the application of the Design Thinking process to systematically design solutions for bridging the generation gap. Following the knowledge incubation phase, the judging panel selected 15 finalist teams to showcase their work in poster format, allowing event attendees to exchange perspectives closely.

In addition to the exhibition, youth representatives from the top 3 finalist teams presented their concepts on the main stage of the 5th Better Mind Better Bangkok 2026. The event was organised through a collaboration between TIMS, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Khon Thai Foundation, the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Sati App, and EmQuartier shopping centre, with B.Grimm as a supporting partner. This stage served as a public space providing opportunities for the younger generation to reflect their perspectives and propose solutions for building mutual understanding across generations.

Preparing the Younger Generation for the Working World Through the Philosophy of Compassion

Dr. Harald Link, President of B.Grimm, stated that the starting point for building a good future comes from people genuinely understanding themselves and others. Practising mindfulness helps individuals listen attentively, recognise differences without rushing to judgement, and choose to respond to surrounding situations with compassion. These qualities form an essential foundation for developing relationships and building a mutually supportive society under the philosophy of Doing Business with Compassion.

Kriengkrai Yooyuen, Chief Human Resources Officer of B.Grimm, added that today’s younger generation is the main driving force of the future working world. Encouraging youth to apply the principles of mindfulness and compassion in real life therefore lays an important foundation for working with others. This approach will enable young professionals to work alongside people of diverse ages with understanding and respect for differences, growing sustainably together with the organisation.

The insights and concepts from this project are of interest to hotel professionals and hospitality sector personnel who work with colleagues and welcome travellers across various age groups. Furthermore, event organisers looking for formats for social initiatives and mental well-being forums can also adapt this approach of integrating a competition stage with a shopping centre exhibition. Meanwhile, members of the general public interested in improving family relationships can directly apply the principles of mindful listening to intergenerational communication.
